ABOUT ME
The art of translation.
Typically behind the scenes and rarely in front of the camera isn't coy, in fact I describe one of my greatest skills as "Translation." Speaking the language of the creative, marketer and the manager I have mastered the ability to play linguist for the likes of developer, real estate brokerage,
C-level executive and even the budding new entrepreneur. The idea that an aesthetic should uplift and support subject matter isn't rare, nor should it leave design behind but practicing the art of story navigation and audience mindfulness seems rarer still.
As a leader I take pride in mentorship, aiding designers with those nervous first steps into the corporate world and helping them pilot the culture shock outside their classroom designs. It's imperative and highly underestimated.
Finding polish in pared back design and building broad campaigns through collective concepts feeds my mind regularly. Team spirit creates seamless focus and as a director I gain momentum through new collaborations, fresh ideas and an "always learning" mentality. Learning the client's tone and messaging clears the way for the design's role as storyteller. Interpreting that dialect into a narrative is my forte.
Special note:
Let's talk about that three voweled name, Áine. Fear not! My name is pronounced "Awn-ya". It's Irish, means graceful and in lore Áine was said to be queen of the fairies.
Indeed I grew up in a small parish in Dublin, attended The Dublin Institute of Technology before fleeing the nest and moving to the U.S. when I was 24 years old.
